Where Have I Seen You?

Today at the store a man looked terribly familiar to me, but I couldn’t place him. After thinking about it awhile, I realized what it was. I hadn’t seen him, actually, but I have seen the likes of him – in America. Why did he look so familiar? He was wearing a baseball cap.

Strangely, I was just commenting on this the other day, more or less. In some old photos I was reviewing, both men and women were wearing a very wide variety of hats, from bonnets and straw hats on the ladies to fedoras, newsboys, baseball caps, and other things lost to history on the men. Nowadays, those people who wear hats at all wear baseball caps. Is it different in Europe? Do Euros wear other kinds of hats, or none?

There isn't a national hat here, like the French have their berets. I can see baseball caps, sure, they just aren't so plentiful.
